New historical data API launch with new subscription options

07 April 2021

TMY and Monthly Averages Data for Your Next Solar Project

We’ve launched a new historical subscription model, which greatly simplifies access to our TMY, Monthly Averages and Time Series data.

Subscriptions provide monthly access through API or our online Toolkit, and TMY files at P50, P90 or PXX requirements in hourly or sub-hourly format are available.

Powering this new subscription model is a brand new API, which can synchronously create and deliver TMY files within just a fraction of a second.

This new API service will prove exceptionally valuable for solar project developers who need access to large volumes of TMY and Monthly Averages data quickly, at a very affordable cost.

We Built a New Powerful Historical Solar Data API

This new API service was more than a year in the making, and had to leverage some of the latest advances in cloud computing via our AWS based platform, in order to make such data delivery possible

But thanks to our highly driven team, united around our mission of making high quality solar data access easier, faster and more affordable than ever - we came through, and are confident you’ll enjoy the result.

In the coming weeks, we’ll finalise the API documentation and example materials in our API Toolkit, so that you can build direct integrations with this new historical API service.

API Access Available Now in the API Toolkit

But there is no need to wait to access the data through our new, competitively priced subscriptions.

First, we’ve introduced an option to evaluate data before you buy, which provides you access to a set number of requests from each of our data products. This means your ability to test out the data for free has improved, and your allotment of free data renews monthly!

Second, we’ve updated our historical data ordering form in the API Toolkit, so that you can use the monthly budget of ‘requests’ in a friendly, easy to use web interface to get the data you need.

Third - very soon, we’ll be announcing some very exciting third-party integrations with your favourite PV design software applications. So stay tuned!

We’re excited to launch this new chapter in enabling you to build the solar powered future. Be sure to get in touch if you have any questions about our new subscriptions!

As always, you can get started with your API Toolkit account - login here. If you don’t have an account yet - registration is free & fast. Get started at this link.
